We were tasked with the challenge of creating an eye-catching shop wall display for a popular chain restaurant here in the UK. As we pride ourselves on our ability to revolutionise the ordinary, we got our thinking caps on.
With such a broad specification, we were able to really showcase our abilities as a company that enjoys a challenge. From tiny models made in what is fondly known as the ‘Blue Peter corner’ right through to mock ups on CAD, numerous ideas were tried and tested. As this particular chain of restaurants was founded in New York, our inventor extraordinaire, Mark, came up with this shimmer wall concept.
To bring this idea into fruition, the New York skyline was digitally printed directly onto hundreds of metal discs. Once printing was complete, the gruelling process of assembly began. Eighteen hours later, the shimmer wall was complete! This unique wall took pride of place in the restaurant to really ‘wow’ customers when they walked in. Being in a place where there was high footfall meant that not only did it get the attention it deserved, but the constant movement of staff and customers meant that the wall appeared to almost be moving on its own due to the light reflecting off it in different ways.
The end result of this project, was a beautiful (and certainly eye-catching) 7ft x 18ft shimmer wall and one extremely happy client.
