A Gold Win for Pure Innovations

We are delighted to announce that they have won gold at the annual POPAI awards. Hosted at the Lancaster London Hotel in October, the POPAI (Point-of-Purchase Advertising International) awards amassed thousands of entries and the judging panel consisted of retail and brand marketers from some of the world’s leading corporations, such as P&G, Unilever and Boots.

POPAI is a progressive industry association promoting best practice, and is dedicated to enhancing the total shopper experience. We partnered with Haygarth and Xerox working for Vodafone UK, and took home the gold ‘Seasonal and Signage award’ for the Vodafone Retail Christmas Campaign 2016.

The Christmas Campaign was particularly challenging as Vodafone’s retail estate consists of 483 stores with four different formats across the UK – bringing a cohesive design across all the stores posed as a challenge. Alongside this, as it was a Christmas display, the UK high street was particularly busy. With all retailers competing for the attention of shoppers, it was necessary that the design cut through the noise and highlighted Vodafone as the ‘go-to’ venue for gifts. Reflective, sparkling screen-printed material and LED lights were used in the shop window to attract attention, with the shop floor displays echoing the same festive designs, whilst highlighting the products for sale. When asked to remark about the Haygarth/Xerox/Pure Innovations for Vodafone UK work, the judges said “An excellently executed in-store campaign that tied in with the above-the-line activity, featuring moving elements and LED lights to engage shoppers. It received strong feedback from both shoppers and retail staff as it could be installed within 20 minutes. A worthy winner.”

We began our business journey in 1983. Over the years, we have worked with a phenomenal range of brands, including Disney, Givenchy, and Adidas, which has given us an impressive portfolio of designs. Although creating point of sale displays is one of the most common projects for Pure Innovations, there’s rarely a challenge turned down by the team. From flower walls at weddings, to 20-foot high lettering for exhibitions, Pure Innovations has the unique ability to carve out eye-catching designs from basic ideas.

Suzanne Hall, the team’s creative director, on the POPAI awards ceremony – “Having Pure Innovations’ hard work recognised by the experts in the field meant just as much as being awarded the gold prize, and this is a huge boost for the team.”
